Funny Campfire Songs for Adults
Music is always a good way to pass the time while around the fire. If you’re looking to make your friends or adult family laugh, we’ve put together some funny campfire songs for adults for you to check out!

Funny Campfire Songs for Adults

Gatherings around the campfire always call for a good song. While it’s okay to break out a few jams here and there, remember that it’s important to keep the atmosphere light! That’s why we thought it might be useful to offer up some funny campfire songs for adults to make the whole group laugh. These are just our suggestions to get you started. Everybody has their own individual sense of humor, so we’ve tried to include a variety of different songs. You may not like or laugh at everything on the list, but hopefully there is something for everyone!

“Most Beautiful Girl in the Room” by Flight of the Conchords

Comedic music duo Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement have had their fair share of success over the years. The New Zealand natives have had their own HBO TV show, as well as multiple globe-spanning tours, top-selling albums, and even prominent roles in movies like What We Do in the Shadows. Their songs and music videos are absolutely hilarious, and many of them make great funny campfire songs for adults. If you play guitar, make sure to bring it along and learn a few of their songs! One of our favorites is “Most Beautiful Girl in the Room,” a tune that perfectly exemplifies the group’s sense of humor. Take a listen if you haven’t heard it before. If you feel like it suits your group’s sense of humor, go ahead and learn some of their songs!

“Always Look on the Bright Side of Life” from Monty Python’s Life of Brian

This movie is a classic. While younger people may not be as familiar with this movie, older folks are certain to recognize it. Even if you haven’t heard it before, the song is very funny on its own. Life of Brian tells the story of Jesus’s unsung brother, Brian. The entire movie is chock full of hilarious songs, but this is a standout. It’s still fondly remembered today, and that’s why it is one of our favorite funny campfire songs for adults. You can find the chords for this song right here, allowing you to learn it and put it to your memory. However, you don’t even need to really learn it on guitar! It works perfectly fine as an acapella sing-along. If you’re lucky, your friends or family may even be able to join in and sing with you. Bonus points if you’re able to nail Eric Idle’s over-the-top English accent.

“The Saga Begins” by ‘Weird’ Al Yankovic

Look, you could really choose any ‘Weird’ Al song and you’ll be on the right track. However, if you’re really trying to get your friends to laugh, why not pull out this strange track that Al wrote about the plot of the first Star Wars prequel? It’s completely random, especially considering the song came out before the movie and it literally spoils the entire plot beat-by-beat. There probably couldn’t be a stranger song for you to take the time out and learn on guitar, which is all the more reason to make your friends or family crack up. The song itself is… somewhat funny. However, the real joke will be the simple fact of you learning it and playing it in a campfire setting. That’s especially true considering the song it’s parodying, “American Pie,” is a longtime campfire mainstay.

“The Pit” by Mouse Rat from Parks & Recreation

Many people agree that Parks & Recreation is one of the funniest sitcoms in recent history. The first couple of seasons of the show center on an abandoned pit in town that Amy Poehler’s character Leslie Knope is trying to get filled and turned into a park. Future Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt’s Andy Dwyer even fell into this pit, breaking both of his legs. His band wrote a song about it. It’s called “The Pit.” You may have heard of it. Either way, it’s a great song to break out and make folks laugh, especially if you and your friends or family have seen the show. It’s completely over the top, just like the characters in the series. Plus, it’s nice and easy, making it a great song to try and learn even if you’re a beginner. You can probably even get this going without a guitar if you need to!

“Boss of Me” by They Might Be Giants

They Might Be Giants are a very successful band, but perhaps their biggest hit over the years is their contribution to beloved 2000’s sitcom Malcolm in the Middle. The song has become iconic, and if you’re old enough to have watched the show, there’s a good chance the people you’re with will recognize it and join in singing. While the music and lyrics themselves may not be funny, it’s definitely a good way to reminisce and feel a little tinge of healthy nostalgia. Plus, it’s just a great song all around! Keep the mood light and have a good time with this modern comedy classic. Then, feel free to move on to more comedic songs or over to regular rock covers.

Final Thoughts

Whether you have a guitar or not, these songs should be a way to kick off a good time around the campfire. Hopefully we were able to account for some different kinds of humor! We know laughs can be hit or miss, and every group is different. At the end of the day, it falls on you to find something that you know will make the people around you crack up. If you have any suggestions that you’d like to share, don’t be afraid to put them in the comments below so our other readers can have a look. Good luck with these songs, and be sure to have a wonderful time out there!
