Camping with toddlers can be rough the first time around. After all, toddlers are used to being at home and sleeping in their bed. As a result, a camping trip is a big change to their daily experience. This creates anxiety in children and makes them act fussy. It can even cut into their sleeping schedule. However, taking the right gear is super helpful. This goes beyond just your camping chair. Instead, it deals with all of the camping essentials with toddlers.

The Disposable Essentials

Disposable essentials are simple camping essentials for your toddler. The name says it all. These essentials are used once and then tossed away. Here are a few of these items:

  • Toilet Paper/Baby Wipes
  • Extra Baby Wipes
  • Extra Diapers

Do not count on a campsite to provide you with these items. Especially when it comes to baby wipes and diapers. Now, some campgrounds do provide toilet paper. But, they might run out and they do not offer out multiple rolls. Bring some extra toilet paper. It is always better safe than sorry!

Camping Essentials With Toddlers: Protection

There are some items necessary for camping with a toddler not too different from adult camping essentials. This list of essentials protects toddlers from potential dangers of the great outdoors. Here are all of the essential protective items for camping:

  • Baby Powder & Diaper Cream
  • Baby Lotion
  • Suntan Lotion
  • Insect Repellent

Each and every item on this list is just as important as the last. Baby powder and diaper cream are super handy. You never know what can happen in that diaper. Protect toddlers from a potential diaper rash and other uncomfortable situations.

Baby lotion is just an essential. But, it does protect toddlers from dry skin. Remember, prolonged time outside has an effect on the skin. Dry conditions, in particular, can really dry out the skin. Thus, lotion is a great essential to have on deck.

Finally, suntan lotion and insect repellent might be the most important protective essentials. Even for adults, mosquito bites area real big problem. Imagine what mosquito bites are like for kiddies. On the other hand, UV rays are dangerous for adults and toddlers alike. Planning a camping trip that is near water or the beach. Then you need a camping chair with shade and some baby suntan lotion on top of your adult suntan lotion.
